Since the 1881 opening of Francois Lorée's oboe factory in France, Lorée oboes have been known around the world for their high quality. Since the factory has cut production, Lorée Oboes are harder to obtain.

The DM bore offers somewhat of a darker "German" sound. The conservatory mechanism includes all trills, left hand F key, as well as forked F resonance and B flat resonance.
